Let Them Be

Let them be.
I get it. Room full of people. Pastors praying. Heads are bowed and your toddler just won’t sit still. Through all the shushing, grabbing and bartering, you realize you have no idea what the pastor just said. You may think you’re bothering others, or it’s all in vain.
Until one day, without prompting, your toddler wants to sit and highlight in her Bible too.
And then, you see her lift her little hands during worship.
And it’s worth it. Because they are watching and learning and modeling after the example you set.
So let them squirm. Let them sit in your lap. Let them bring their bitty Bible from home.
Heck, even let them embarrass you a little.
Because they see you, and they are learning.
